I attend this school and as far as i am concerned some (if not most) of the teachers here are awesome and will do anything to help their student(s) succeed. Some of the administration though is not good

THS truely only cares about the dress code, and, for that, they prevent students from learning. I am 100% positive that nobody would be that distracted by that one student enough for the administration to reasonably take them out of class.

This is the worse school ever. They are constantly worried about the minor infractions and suspending for them instead of the fact that the school is over run with pills and other drugs that are not pot (heroin). All these kids are doing it and they are just sending addicts into the world. The parents are completely blind until their child is arrested for drug possession or use, for which started in this school because of an administration that is busy worrying about the wrong things and making it appear to the school board that they are doing their job because they have so many suspensions for the stupidest infractions. Pay attention to what is really going on. Eventually, the news is going to learn of all the students that are buying and selling drugs at the school and people will finally learn that Hampstead is not this rich community because all the illegal stuff will make the news instead of being burred. Topsail is not what everyone thinks it is but rather riddled with drugs that could have possibly been stopped for one student had the time been taken to know what is going on instead of worrying about someone saying something wrong in class. Also, there is a police office in the school that is friends with most of the students and the students parents which is fine, law enforcement should know their community when it is this small but this also allows for them to turn a blind eye to what is really going on. Send in an undercover like they did in the 80's when cocaine and weed were prevalent and watch and see what they will find in the school, parking lot and what is going on in the community. We did not do anything like this in the school in the 80's as we knew there were at least 3 undercover narcs in the school that could have been our friends and we would have never known it. Maybe it's time to go back to that and some of this illegal behavior would stop.

In the four years I attended this high school, I only ever had a problem with one teacher. The teachers here are fantastic, but I cannot say this for the administrators. The administrators are beyond terrible, and they are the reason THS has got such a bad reputation. I mean, come on, who threatens to call the cops on a former student who just wants to visit their teacher- on a former student who is being polite and not being rude as they are. They play favorites hard core, and are not afraid to be completely and unnecessarily rude to students. You're only liked if you're their kids' best friend. Every time I entered the front office I was greeted with "what do you want" like the secretary didn't have the time of day, and then she would ALWAYS proceed to tell me that she had no clue what I was talking about (even if it were as simple as where is the football game tonight). The other administrators would answer my questions, but they were NEVER polite or respectful. I am not afraid to say that are the reason my four years there were difficult. They spent more time busting girls for a bra strap sticking out from the collar of the shirt than disciplining kids. I know druggies who got away on a regular basis for things they should be suspended for. When it comes to sports, unless you play baseball or football, forget about respect. Never once did they show the cross country, track, swim, golf, or lacrosse teams any pride or joy, despite the fact that most of these teams went to states SEVERAL times. I know for a fact that our cross country and track teams PLACED AT STATES. But they never got any reward. I wish that these administrators, who practically run the school, would put more effort into showing at least a little respect towards the students. Their favoritism is beyond unfair.

School is very very very UNWOKE
