Prism Custom Painting has worked as a vendor for our property management company for several years. We deal directly with the owner, Jim, from start to finish on each project, and he and his crew continue to exceed our expectations. Their prices are extremely competitive, their quality is great, and the customer service is excellent. Working with rentals, you don't always have a huge budget to work with to get a job done, and Jim always finds a way to do what is needed within the budget restraints of each job. He provides written estimates, and final invoicing only after we are satisfied with the work completed. I recommend Prism and Jim to customers and clients on a regular basis and will continue to do so in the future.
Great for a quick paint job that doesn't need much prep. I hired them to paint my master bath, bedroom, and part of the living. The employee did a good job except for skipping areas that needed a skim coat. I explained to Jim the owner that the reason I wanted the living painted was because of one area that looked rough at night. After they finished everything was looking good but still drying. The next night I noticed the rough are looked the same. I called Jim and he said he would give back the money for that area. I said I want it right, not my money back. Jim agreed to look at it, and once he arrived he could see the issue. He said he wished he didn't take the job, and that I needed a drywall person to cut out the area and replace. He also was complaining about moving furniture which was included in the estimate. Now I have been on a ladder mudding and painting what was supposed to be done by Prism.
Prism Custom Painting was referred to us by a builder who said that it is a "professional outfit." He got that right! We will never call another painting company but this one. Jim's standards are high and he follows through on every step -- right on time for the estimate, checks on the site each day, does a walk through at the end. He is a straight shooter from start to finish. Jim has been in the business for 20 years and has plenty of work, so we felt lucky that he took our job. Our painter, Cito has been with Prism for 10 years. He was so clearly trustworthy, knowledgeable and customer service oriented that we were completely relaxed every day that he was here. I can see why much of Prism's business consists of repeat clients -- from the top down, this company is terrific.
So you can say I am tired and unhappy because they didn't stand behind what they were supposed to do. Nothing new, and not the first time this has happened to me. It's hard to find people that will do what they say they will, and stand behind their work.
